The Role
As a People Partner here within LSKD's People and Culture team, you will act as a strategic advisor and employee champion, aligning people initiatives with business goals to drive performance and culture. You will support leaders with coaching, talent planning, and change management, while championing team member experience, engagement, and inclusion. In our fast paced retail environment, you will play a key role in developing frontline leaders, fostering our values driven culture, and ensuring people decisions are data informed and people first.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Champion LSKD’s operating principles and lead with integrity, embodying a hungry, humble, and smart mindset
Partner with leaders to align business priorities with effective people strategies
Coach managers on leadership, team effectiveness, and performance improvement plans
Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters
Drive initiatives to boost engagement, wellbeing, and a values-driven culture
Track and enhance completion of LSKD learning programs.
Ensure compliance with NES, GRIA, WHS, and other relevant legislation.
Lead talent initiatives including workforce planning, succession, and internal mobility
Use data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
Act as a trusted advisor for ER matters, including Fair Work Australia issues
Develop and implement compliant, culture-aligned people policies and procedures.
Provide sound input surrounding HR systems, award interpretation, and employment agreements
Navigate restructures and organisational design with empathy and compliance
Guide on enterprise agreements in collaboration with legal and operations teams
(Preferred) Apply NZ employment law knowledge where applicable
What You Bring:
A strong people-first mindset with the ability to influence, coach, and build trusted relationships at all levels
Proven experience (3+ years) in a generalist HR or People Partner role, ideally in a fast-paced retail or consumer-facing environment
A commercial lens on HR — you understand how people strategy drives business results
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you're a connector, listener, and influencer
High emotional intelligence and empathy — balancing care with outcomes
A passion for coaching leaders, driving development, and building team effectiveness
Resilience and adaptability in dynamic, ever-changing environments
A data-informed approach to diagnosing issues and tracking success
Deep knowledge of Australian employment legislation; familiarity with NZ law is a plus
Experience with modern awards, employment contracts, and enterprise agreements
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a track record of driving organisational change
Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and a knack for simplifying systems and processes

Experience supporting restructures, workforce planning, and role design
Exposure to the New Zealand employment landscape
